1. Game Setup
Tongits is played with a standard 52-card deck between 2 to 3 players. Each player receives 12 cards, while the remaining cards form the draw pile with one card placed face-up to start the discard pile.

2. Forming Combinations
Players must arrange their 12 cards into valid combinations:

Sets: Three or four cards of the same rank (e.g., three Kings or four Aces)

Runs: Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., 5-6-7 of Hearts)

3. Taking and Discarding
On your turn, you may take the top card from the draw pile or the discard pile. You must then discard one card from your hand. Strategic discarding is key - you may want to keep certain cards to complete your combinations.

4. Declaring Tongits
When you have successfully formed all 12 cards into valid sets and runs, you can declare "Tongits!" to win the round. You can also "Burn" if you have the lowest point total when someone calls Tongits.

5. Scoring
Points are calculated based on the face value of remaining cards (A=1, 2-10=face value, J/Q/K=10 points). The player with the lowest score wins the round.
